That one time… I bought an iPad.

I’m just going to preface this post by saying that, once in awhile, we all need to do a little something spontaneous for ourselves. What that something is, is completely up to us. It can be something as small as buying yourself an ice cream cone, burning yourself a really awesome mix cd, or downloading a new app for your phone. For me… It was buying an iPad.

I know I know I know. You’re probably thinking, “What the eff, Tay. You cant just IMPULSE buy an iPad!” Well I did. And you’re just going to have to deal with it. So here’s the story.

I went to Meijer the other night to get some photos printed, and when I got there I found out that I was little late, and that the photo station was closed for the night. So I was a little peeved, but whatever. Well… I was already in the electronics section, and I came across the iPhone and iPad covers. And all the iPad covers just looked so dang pretty…and so did the VERY LAST white, 32G, iPad2 that was just sitting there, looking incredibly lonely, in the locked glass case, just out of reach.

It was staring at me. It just… Kept staring at me.
So I bought it.

I budgeted about 5 dollars that evening to pay for those photos, and ended up spending over $500 to get my iPad. Whoops!

I mean, don’t get me wrong. I had wanted an iPad for awhile now– the reasons should be obvious and the possibilities really are endless– so it wasn’t completely out of the blue. But let’s be honest, it was a little out there.

But I guess the point that I’m trying to get at is that, every once in awhile, it feels good to just go on a whim, do something impulsive, and take a chance. I mean yeah, in the scheme of things, it’s just an iPad, it’s not the end of the world. But man oh man, am I glad I bought it.

Merry Christmas from the Benson side of the family! It’s just me, my bro, and my cousins Megan and Ryan on that side of the family, and we’ve got a slew of pics of the 4 of us all opening our presents on Christmas. We all look so happy! There are some pictures that should never have been taken. There are some pictures that should never leave the photo album after they’ve been printed. There are some pictures that should never be broadcast all over the interwebs.

Unfortunately, this picture may fall into all three of those categories, but I’m going to choose to ignore all of that, and share it with you today. In fact, I’m going to share one family Christmas photo everyday this week, leading up to Christmas.

Pahahaha. I don’t know what my beautiful cuz Katie and I were thinking. I don’t know why I hadn’t learned how to properly pluck my eyebrows (seriously. Seriously. SERIOUSLY?! Mom, how you let me go around looking like that for so long is beyond me.) And I REALLY don’t know what my left hand is doing in this picture. But what I do know, is that this picture is ridiculously hilarious, and that there are plenty more locked away in our family archives that will be revealed to you this week. So GET PUMPED.
